as i mentioned in the last post, we all basically have bands of our own which we also spend our time on when we're not writing for the zine and doing all that other fun stuff that we do. in case anyone cared to check out the bands, here they are.
(edit: 5/31/2008)
since this post, three of the bands kicked out our zine members who were a part of them. so there is only one band left to show you guys. sorry there's not more.
the street rats - tim (drums), michelle (guitar), riley (bass)
street punk band from the 860 and the 203 that just recently formed. tim on drums, michelle on guitar, riley on bass, and danny as frontman, look for a release in the near future.

UPDATES!
okay, so it's been a few months since the last update to this thing so i figured it was about time to clue everybody in on the world of DIY PUNK zine.
we gained another member, tim chaos (or street rat tim, whatever you wanna call him) who has already helped us a ton with finding local shops to distro the zine down in the 203 part of Connecticut. Plus, he's interviewing some awesome bands for us and CD reviews and all that ... he's most excited about the Rabble review/interview, and we don't blame him. in fact, we're jealous of him. the CD looks awesome and comes with a two-sided poster. WE NEVER GET THOSE! anyways, now the zine staff is up to six of us crazy kids, so i think we're at a good enough number right now to keep this thing going for a while.
we were about to put together ISSUE 6 with our greenland whalefishers / dropkick murphys st. pat's day theme when the main computer linked to the zine with all the zine stuff on it got hacked and basically destroyed. so the release date of issue 6 got pushed back a few weeks late. as soon as it's out we'll let everyone know.
other than that we've all been working on side projects of our own, most of us have got bands that we're either practiving, recording, or playing shows with... so we're all pretty busy outside of the zine too. i'm thinking we'll aim for the magazine to come out four times a year, once every three months. we've got a ton of awesome artists and bands lined up for the upcoming issues and we're really excited about all of that. another side project includes a book on the connecticut punk scene from the 1970s til the present, and a punk rock comic book, both to be published by the zine in the upcoming months.
issue 6 should be out by the end of march. check for it!
